Bringing Diwali Into Everyday Journeys

For the South Asian community, Diwali is more than a celebration; it is a time to connect with family, share cultural traditions, and find moments of joy, even during the daily commute. The GO Transit brand recognized this human truth and integrated Diwali into the everyday lives of commuters with the “GO Diwali Train by Metrolinx.” A GO Train was transformed into a moving festival, complete with live Bollywood performances, multilingual posters, and Diwali-themed giveaways, creating a vibrant and immersive experience for riders.

Supported by a multi-channel campaign across TV, radio, social media, and on-board influencer activations, GO Transit also highlighted the Weekday Group Pass, making it easier for families and friends to travel together during Diwali. This was an immersive cultural experience enabling commuters to “feel” GO Transit’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity.
